Be an ideal transformer powered by a 220 V source and having 1000 turns in the primary. What must be the number of turns in the secondary so that we have a voltage of 110 V in it?

Solution of the Problem 91-1

This problem can be solved by applying eq. 91-02 studied in the Item 2 and shown below.

Therefore, replacing with the numerical values provided by the problem, we have:

N₂ = (N₁ V₂) / V₁ = (1000 x 110) / 220 = 500 turns
